Small Talk (2010-2011)

Small Talk is an interactive installation with garden gnomes, which function as a communication line between two telephones. The installation can be used as a dysfunctional communication device between two people who are standing in the same room.
The visitor can pick up the phone and leave a message which the gnomes will deliver to the other end of the line, one by one. Each of these gnomes speak in their own tone of voice and at their own pace, and sometimes they don’t pick up the message exactly as it was delivered to them, which results in the message not always being delivered as planned.
Small Talk won the Blink Youngblood Award during Gogbot Festival in 2010.
